Jocelyn Bell Burnell discovered pulsars in 1967 as a graduate student. The 1974 Nobel Prize for the discovery went to her supervisor. In 2018 she won the $3 million Breakthrough Prize and gave the entire sum to fund underrepresented students in physics.
